Apple, Inc. helps Home Educators save money

Recently I’ve been asked questions about how to get a really good laptop without paying really high prices.  My answer tends to lean towards Apple, Inc.  But this post is not about the “Mac vs. PC” arguement.  This post is purely about saving money.

Not many are aware of it, but Apple has a “web store” that mirrors their standard store, but with the pricing of the computers reduced to support Home Educators.  It can be found here.  I wanted to provide the link because they don’t make it a well known fact, nor do they make it easy to find.

You’ll save between $50 and $150 depending on the model you select bring the entry level MacBook or MacBook Air down to $949 and the Mac mini to $649.  An additional “benefit” is that Best Buy will honor the Home Educator pricing so if you would prefer a “brick and mortar” experience and don’t live near an Apple Store, or if you don’t want it shipped, you can still save some money.
